The most important knowledge you will ever have is to know, when you look in a mirror, who is this unique individual looking back at you called “me”.

As the motto inscribed on the front of the Temple of Delphi says, “Know thyself!”

To enable this to happen you need to know what motivates you, what your drivers are and what you need.

Try this! Every morning as you prepare for the day, have a good mental chinwag with “bathroom mirror you.”

Your aim is to define a written list of your top motivators, drivers and needs - it might take a week or a month: never mind how long it takes, just do it!

With this knowledge you will then be able to proactively change and manage the physical and emotional environment you experience with family at home, with colleagues at work or with friends socially.

Most people never do this, particularly for their working environment: they simply accept the environment in which they find themselves and then moan, grumble and find fault when it’s not right.

You deserve better, you deserve to be happier - “know yourself!”
